Sound Store Studio LLC was founded by three lifelong Santa Cruz musicians—Matthew Wilson, Andrew Coonrad, and Mitch Crews. Growing up in the heart of the Santa Cruz punk scene, they cut their teeth playing in countless bands, recording albums, and tearing up live shows. With over 20 years of experience each, they bring a lifetime of music-making to every project.

 

Located in midtown Santa Cruz, Sound Store Studio blends vintage character with modern capability—packing the space with a mountain of gear that can handle everything from raw punk energy to polished studio productions. As veteran musicians and engineers, Matthew, Andrew, and Mitch know what it takes to capture great performances. The studio is a hand built, artist curated space with an emphasis on affordable rates and creativity to support the thriving local music community.
